چکیده

The stationary workload W A+B of a queue with capacity φ loaded by two independent processes A and B is investigated. When the probability of load deviation in process A decays slower than both in B and e √ , we show that W A+B is asymptotically equal to the reduced load queue W A , where b is the mean rate of B. This complements the known result that this property does not hold when both processes have lighter than e √ x deviation decay rates. Furthermore, using the same methodology, we show that under an equivalent set of conditions the results on sampling at subexponential times hold.

On a Reduced Load Equivalence for Fluid Queues Under Subexponentiality

We propose a general framework for obtaining asymptotic distributional bounds on the stationary backlog WA1+A2;c in a bu er fed by a combined uid process A1 + A2 and drained at a constant rate c. The uid process A1 is an (independent) on-o source with average and peak rates 1 and r1, respectively, and with distribution G for the activity periods. The uid process A2 of average rate 2 is arbitrar...

Distribution Tails of Sample Quantiles and Subexponentiality

We show that subexponentiality is not suucient to guarantee that the distribution tail of a sample quantile of an innnitely divisible process is equivalent to the \tail" of the same sample quantile under the corresponding L evy measure. However, such an equivalence result is shown to hold under either an assumption of an appropriatly slow tail decay or an assumption on the structure of the proc...

Reduced-Load Equivalence for Queues with Gaussian Input

In this note, we consider a queue fed by a number of independent heterogeneous Gaussian sources. We study under what conditions a reduced load equivalence holds, i.e., when a subset of the sources becomes asymptotically dominant as the buffer size increases. For this, recent results on extremes of Gaussian processes [6] are combined with de Haan theory. We explain how the results of this note r...

Study of the performance in dual fuels 50% gasoline -50% NG and single original fuels and comparison in part load

One of the most efficient methods to reduce emissions and fuel costs of SI engines in petrol case, is the use of combined gasoline and NG. The ability of an engine is usually expressed with maximum power and maximum torque output of full-load state, but the operating time of the engines with full-load is less than that of part-load time. Therefore, studying the performance of the engine with a ...
